Thunder Valley Legend
April 17 - - Former NASCAR driver and current Fox Sports analyst Jeff Gordon was inducted into Legends Plaza at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
"For me, all I ever wanted to do was compete at a level and accomplish enough where maybe one day I could be recognized as a legend," Gordon said.
Gordon, a five-time winner at Bristol, joins drivers Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and Darrell Waltrip to name a few in the plaza. Gordon scored four
consecutive spring wins at the track from 1995-1998. He also captured the night race in 2002.
JG Hosts Daytona Kickoff Celebration
February 18 -- Jeff Gordon will host the 'Daytona 500 Kickoff Celebration' airing on February 20 at 9pm/et on FOX. The event will be held at the Halifax
River Yacht Club in Daytona Beach and will feature drivers, celebrities and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models to celebrate the start of the NASCAR season and the release of the
magazine's annual swimsuit issue. "The Daytona 500 is such a huge event, it deserves a great party to kick the season off," Gordon said.
The hour-long special, also offering in-depth features on the newly renovated Daytona Rising and 2016 NASCAR season, is hosted by Gordon and FOX Sports'
Molly McGrath with reporting and driver/celebrity interviews by NASCAR reporter Jamie Little. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016 models Erin Heatherton and Hannah Ferguson are scheduled to attend
the event, which features celebrity chef Tim Love and celebrity mixologist Justin Noel serving the 200 guests.
Jeff Honored With Long Leaf Pine Award
January 15 -- Jeff Gordon was honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory during the North
Carolina Motorsports Association's banquet on Wednesday night in Concord, N.C. The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is the highest honor the governor can bestow on a citizen.
Gordon was honored for his racing career and philanthropic efforts through the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation to fight childhood cancer. "My career and the statistics and the things
I've accomplished are far beyond any dream or hope that I ever had," Gordon said. "To receive an award that's this prestigious in a state that has meant so much
to me in my racing career, to be given to me by someone who's been a longtime friend, to get this honor means the world to me."
