Fan Club Reorganization

WILLIAMS, AZ. - - Without a doubt, 1999 has been a year of transition for Jeff Gordon. Changes have taken place both on and off the track that have had major effects. The off-track news continued as it was announced that the Jeff Gordon National Fan Club (JGNFC) would be reorganizing for the future.

Action Performance Companies, Inc. entered into a partnership with JG, Inc. and The Harris Group, LLC in the JGNFC. Action Performance, through its goracing.com Web site, will handle all membership and merchandising aspects of the fan club. The Harris Group, who ran the fan club from its inception, will continue to handle all of the "personal services" as presently offered by the current operation. JG, Inc. will continue as the fan club's controlling management. In addition, Action Performance currently manages fan clubs for Dale Earnhardt, Bobby Labonte, Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

ARCCA will extend any member that joined or renewed their membership on or after September 1, 1999, until December 31, 2000, thereby giving those members an extension to their current membership. All other memberships will expire on December 31, 1999. Those extended members will also receive the 2000 membership kit at no extra charge. These kits are scheduled to be sent out prior to the 2000 Daytona 500 and will contain various JGNFC logo items. In addition, ARCCA will be able to offer merchandise to the fan club members, much of which will be at a special fan club price. ARCCA will publish a periodic full-color newsletter with major input by The Harris Group. Jeff will continue his personal article and remain in direct contact with the membership of the JGNFC.

Russ and Maureen Harris organized the fan club nearly a decade ago and will still maintain a staffed office with regular hours in order to service member needs and will continue to handle all autograph requests, donations, Fan Club events, mail, faxes, emails and all other personal services as may be required.

The change will allow the ever-expanding fan club to better serve the members through Action's merchandising. It is hoped that the club will continue to maintain the personal touch that has been prevalent in the past. As is the case with any partnership, only time will tell whether all parties involved will be completely satisfied.
