The Ebenezer's Children's Home currently houses about 15 children who have been placed in the home due to physical and emotional abuse. Since the orphanage is not state funded it relies mainly on faith and donations. Mechelle Turner, whose 7-year-old son, Trevor, serves as the ambassador for the NC Cover Miss and Cover Boy Pagentry system, wrote the following letter. It's well worth reading. My son Trevor is the world's biggest Jeff Gordon fan. He's been a fan for most of his life. Trevor is currently the ambassador for the NC Cover Miss and Cover Boy Pagentry system. We do many activities with the Pagentry group, but one thing that we do that is very close to everyone's heart is the Christmas party that we hold for the Ebenezer's Children's Home every year. The home is located about five miles fron North Wilkesboro Speedway. This year's party will be held on Friday, December 8th in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Many people have been contacted this year for donations. Among those are Jeff Gordon, Brett Bodine, Roush Racing, Promotions in Motion, Jerry Nadeau, Joe Nemechek, various music artists, and teen idols.

Many are sending autographs for each child, t-shirts, hats, and other gifts. We have even received items that are being auctioned off with all proceeds going directly to the children. The children have asked for Wal-mart, movie rental, restuarant gift certificates, clothing and toys. Most everyone has been gracious enough to send items for the children, but Jeff Gordon and his organization have been incredibly wonderful. Out of everyone who has been contacted, they have managed to be the top donators.

You and Jeff Gordon's organization have already made a world of difference in many of our lives. It all means so much for everyone involved.
