NEW YORK, N.Y.- - A charity raffle benefitting The Foundation Fighting Blindness was held on the site beginning in mid-September. The winning drawing was on November 17. The first prize winner was Patty Ham of Maine. She will receive the 1997 Jeff Gordon diecast car, 55 original JG photographs, Forbes Magazine and WCI featuring JG articles, and my notesheet from a Winston Cup race. The second prize winner was Bobbi Cook of North Carolina who won WCI magazines featuring Jeff Gordon. The total amount raised from the raffle was $735, while the eBay auction of a Jeff Gordon autographed leather jacket raised $299.24-- for a combined total of $1,034.24. While the two winners won the prizes, my sincere thanks goes to the 29 people who purchased raffle tickets as well as the person who made the winning bid on the eBay auction. The fundraising effort was easily the highlight of 2002 in regards to the website.
