THE CAUSE: On June 11, I'll have a team for the CureSearch Walk on Long Island, New York.
All money raised through the online drive will go toward research by the Children's Oncology Group, a network of physicians,
nurses, and scientists who treat 90 percent of North American children with cancer. If you live in the Long Island area, JOIN the team at
Bethpage Park. CureSearch is a 501(c)(3) charity -- your donation is tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
THE REASON: Every day, 35 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer - 7 of those children will not survive.
Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in children. Although the cure rate is now 78 percent - up by 30 percent in the last 20 years - it
is not good enough. Our goal is a 100 percent cure rate.
THE RAFFLES: On April 26, Rob Caylor won pairs of tickets to the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup series race and the Saturday Nationwide race at
Charlotte Motor Speedway. Thanks to Gail at Charlotte Motor Speedway for generously donating the tickets for the raffle!
