NEW YORK, N.Y. (December 7)- - On Thursday, November 29, Jeff Gordon, crew chief Robbie Loomis, and car owner Rick Hendrick
came to Times Square in recognition of the 2001 Winston Cup championship
season. In addition to the obligatory photos, John Dyson,
on behalf of New York City Mayor Rudolph Guiliani, proclaimed Friday, November
30 as NASCAR Day in New York City. On Friday, Gordon had a brief
photo shoot in front of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel before the Winston
Cup awards ceremony.
